We have expanded our capacities and sales teams in this important industry segment in order to ensure that we can provide the flexibility and world-class service that our growing customer base has come to expect from Hayes Lemmerz. We supply nearly all major truck and trailer OEMs around the world.
Hayes Lemmerz produces commercial wheels at 5 locations throughout the world. We manufacture a variety of sizes, ranging up to 24.5" (tubeless) and up to 24" (tube-type) in diameter along with flat based industrial wheels ranging from 8´´ to 15´´ for pneumatic and solid tires (Super-Elastic). Each type is available with different rim widths and bolt patterns. Each of our facilities is a full product line supplier in its home market but is also capable of supplying international markets and/or supporting other regions. Our products set standards in weight optimization, finish (E-coat or custom color top-coats) and fatigue life. All of our wheels are tested and certified to the most stringent test criteria.
Wheels can be used for single- or dual-wheel applications and for steer, drive or trailer axle positions. These wheels have a straight-through stud hole and are available in both 8- and 10-hole configurations. The primary advantage of our wheel is that a single, right-hand threaded, cone lock nut is used on each bolt. In contrast, traditional stud piloted systems incorporate spherical countersinks on each stud hole, which require multiple left hand/right hand fasteners. Positive hub piloting and cone lock clamping leads to improved wheel life and simplified maintenance There are no inner wheel nuts to freeze on or to complicate retorquing.
Stud piloted systems incorporate inner and outer cap nuts so that each wheel is tightened and torqued individually. These wheels are available in standard or heavy duty stud piloted mountings based on load capacity.
Our wide base steel wheels are ideal for weight sensitive applications. For tubeless dual replacement applications, weight savings up to 166 pounds per axle can be achieved.
Less weight = more revenue producing payload and better fuel economy.
Dual replacement applications enjoy better road contact with the wider tire, resulting in less tire wear.
Load ratings of up to 12,500 pounds have been achieved.
Our wide base wheels are less expensive than comparable aluminum wide base wheels. Wide base wheels also required less hardware for stud piloted applications, resulting in lower inventory costs.
Our wide base wheels come standard with a 5-year written warranty.

Hayes Lemmerz is the leader in supplying steel wheels to manufacturers of military vehicles. Designed to work with radial tires and Central Tire Inflation Systems (CTIS), Take-A-Part wheels consist of two formed or fabricated steel halves, bolted together to allow the use of a runflat or beadlock to secure the tire beads to the rim flanges. The assembly allows vehicle operation at low air pressure for increased mobility and has been proven dependable on supply and tactical support vehicles.
